The FAA has been rolling out the LAANC system across the USA for small unmanned aerial systems to gain access to the National Airspace. Recreational UAV (Drone) Flyers are now required to use this system for access to any Airspace other than Class G.
FAA Certified Remote Pilots (part 107) May utilize the LAANC system or obtain an Airspace Authorization via the FAA Drone Zone Website for permission to fly in and around Airport Airspace.
No Longer will the Air Traffic Control Towers be taking calls for Notification.
Above And Beyond Global Maintains FAA Wide – Area Airspace Authorizations.
The LAANC System is currently not available at KMLB Airport in Melbourne.
